Customer Service and Sales Associate

Schedule: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Salary: [$17.50/hour] to [$20.00/hour] Based on experience and qualifications

Job Description

Under the supervision of Anick, the selected candidate will be responsible for welcoming and serving customers at the orchard’s country store. They will help showcase orchard products as well as products from local producers, while contributing to the daily operations of the shop and assisting with tasks related to the preparation and labeling of processed goods.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet visitors in a warm and professional manner in both French and English
  • Advise customers on orchard products and goods from local producers
  • Process sales and handle cash register transactions
  • Restock products and report inventory needs
  • Ensure attractive product presentation and well-stocked displays
  • Help drive sales through a natural, discreet, and effective advisory approach
  • Participate in labeling, packaging, and shelving of processed products
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure a high-quality customer experience

Profile required

Essential

  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Bilingualism (French and English, spoken)
  • Natural interpersonal skills and professional attitude
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build trust with customers
  • Interest in local, organic, and artisanal products
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Punctuality and reliability

Assets

  • Experience in retail or customer service
  • Experience in a food shop, farmers’ market, or local specialty store
  • Experience with point-of-sale (POS) systems
  • Interest in organic agriculture and buying local
